ON WHY WE DO NOT NEED MILITARY AND MONETARY ADDICTIVE CIVILIZATIONS FOR THE SATISFACTION OF OUR BASIC NEEDS. HISTORY HAS SHOWN THAT THERE ARE OTHER CIVILIZATIONS THAT WORK BETTER. According to the best historians, from Michelet to Sun Tzu, Clausewits and Toynbee, in the last ten thousands years, there have been only three types of civilizations:
1. The military one. 2. The mercantile or commercial one. 3. And the spiritual or holistic one
In his many huge volumes of History, the historian Arnold Toynbee had spent over 50 years of his life studying these hydraulic (river) civilizations and their many societies, their regulations, their evolutionary patterns and their demise. At the end of his vast inquiry, the historian determined that the People’s basic needs were the most fulfilled in the Spiritual civilizations, such as during the Neolithic eco-village era before social differentiation set in or during the 5th century B.C. when the Lao Tseus, the Boudhas, the Isaias, the Zarathrustras, the Hippocrates and the Socrates were on the five major continents enlightening the People with their pearls of wisdom and energy flow. In this context, the political philosopher Socrates, (5 B.C.)in one of his famous dialogues, had actually pinpointed two of Society’s major drawbacks that would push people to the military and mercantile civilization modalities. These were the health and the legal systems. " When dissoluteness and disease abound in a city, are not law courts an surgeries opened in abundance, and do not Lawyers and Physicians begin to hold their heads high…” In this dialogue, Socrates was chating with Glaucon on the consequences of the replacement of a plant-based diet by a meat-based diet preferred by Glaucon. Socrates was explaining that a diet of barley, wheat, olives, figs, beans, myrtle berries, beech nuts and wine in moderation were all conducive the health contentement while an animal diet would lead to diseases, a sickness industry, legal strife and tension etc. Glaucon prefered to argue that the sacrifice of animals on the altar of human food was the way to go. (cf Plato’s Dialogue). With the erosion of time, Greek mainstreamers and other glutons based their diet on the shedding of innocent animal blood and processed foods. Little by little, they lost their center. Like with Imperial Rome, inner city conflicts weakened the Nation, until foreign invasions finished off these legalistic and sickness-industry laden Societies. Thousands of other Societies emerged on the five continents, from the depth of Africa and Asia to the Ottomane powers, where the Ottoman people themselves also came face to face with Decadence as nearly half of their population were chronically ill and obese. Curiously, chronic diseases went hand in hand with the well-recorded Ottoman tentacular bureaucracy (e.g. red tape). The Ottomane Empire definitely died when the British, the Americans, the French and allies vanquished the Austra-German powers (and their allies). Over two thousands (2000) years after Socrates plant-based diet dialogue, Academic studies have undisputely proven that Socrates and not Glaucon was right, insofar as the health superiority of a plant-based diet is concerned.
In candidate Christian's longevity and lifestyle medicine chapter, he invokes other pieces of evidence that corroborate these China, Cornell and Oxford universities findings. (See also the longevity medicine link by clicking here). Therefore, the "cynical powers that be" (alias the less enlightened elements of government) can not deny the above-mentioned epidemiological evidence. Today, in America in general and Washington State in particular, we the People are facing major legal and health crises, all which are eroding our basic human rights and are undermining our dignity as human beings. To this very day, there is no evidence that the mainstream System has anything to offer to reduce the magnitude of the State's chronic diseases and connected social ills. To confirm this conclusion, on August 13, 2007, at the "Aging Council' in Snohomish County (Everett, at the Station), candidate Christian participated (as many other candidates and elected officials, including governor Grégoire's husband Michael) at this forum, during which there was not one word on longevity medicine, let alone on lifestyle medecine and holistic healing. Even less on using the Law to change standards of care and implement genuine public health policies. On the contrary, different testimonies confirmed the People's addiction to scientific dogma and mainstream allopathic medicine. In this forum, Council members requested from legislators more funds and the consensus was that there are more and more disabled, isolated Washingtonians who need the State's 600,000 voluntary family members as caretakers, that a 47 year older can now be considered "old and disabled". A contrario, British surgeon Dr Robert McCarrison, writing in the AMA Journal Jan 7, 1922 concluded that the absence of diseases in the Hunza People was connected to their diet, lifestyle and their lack of stress that came from living in a simple society close to Nature. "They have an abundant crop of apricots. These they dry in the sun and use largely in their food....The Hunzas have no known incidence of cancer. In addition, They live well beyond 100 years old and have commonly been known to still father children at the age of 110” (ibid.) ".
TO CONCLUDE
Differences in Civilizations and Societies are all based on "vibrational discrepencies. Life is the result of how we use and abuse Energy. On what we deeply invest in. How we burn passion. How we passionately activate dreams (Shakespeare confirmed this piece of wisdom himself: "Reality is made from the stuff of Dreams") and animate the fundamental principle of enlightened self sovereignty. Or succumb to fear and greed. The military civilizations are based on fear, security via weapons of massive destruction, rampant human rights violations and hubris. The mercantile or commercial one based on insecurity, greed, vanity, profitability, stress and injustices and paranoia. And the spiritual or holistic one based on faith, hutspah, holistic health, eco-settlements, human rights and duties promotion, justice and enlightened consent and creative humility. After the famous Madriaga (of the League of Nations), F.D. Roosevelt spoke in these same Civilization terms. In his message to the 77th US Congress, January 6, 1941, Roosevelt declared this: "In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression, everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way -- everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want -- which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants -- everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear -- which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor-- anywhere in the world. That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb. To that new order we oppose the greater conception -- the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear. Since the beginning of our American history, we have been engaged in change -- in a perpetual peaceful revolution -- a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions -- without the concentration camp or the quick-lime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, working together in a friendly, civilized society. This nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women; and its faith in freedom under the guidance of God. Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or keep them. Our strength is our unity of purpose. To that high concept there can be no end save victory " .
